Where to start
Start with a specific coloring experience, not a large page count. Choose who the book is for, what they will enjoy coloring and how the pages will be delivered. A printable download and a bound paperback require different files, previews and customer expectations.
Make a small sample before producing the full book. Ask likely buyers to color it and describe confusing areas, unwanted detail and practical frustrations. Interest in a cover is not the same as satisfaction with the interior.
Validate the experience before expanding
- Write a one-sentence promise covering theme, complexity and intended audience.
- Create three representative pages, including the most detailed kind you plan to include.
- Print and test with the intended coloring tools; gather feedback on the activity itself.
- Build a page plan with deliberate variety and a consistent visual style.
- Prepare accurate samples, rights records, delivery files and the destination's current listing requirements.
Make the promise concrete
‘Cozy balcony gardens with large open shapes for relaxed coloring’ sets expectations better than ‘the ultimate coloring book for everyone.’ Your sample should show ordinary interior complexity, not an unusually polished page that the rest of the book cannot match.
For a downloadable product, tell buyers what files they receive and that printing is their responsibility. For a paperback, test a physical proof. Do not promise marker-proof paper from a screen preview, and do not treat a generic PDF export as proof of print compatibility.
Check your result
- Samples accurately represent the interior.
- The listing distinguishes printable files from a physical book.
- Print and generation costs are included in your own budget.
- The book meets the seller platform's rules; sales are not assumed.
