Credits, billing, publishing, and your account — the short version, with links to do things.
Credits & usage
- You start with 5 free chapters. Finished books cost 25–35 chapter credits depending on type — the exact cost is always shown before you confirm.
- Regenerating a cover costs 2 credits and an outline 1; title ideas are free for the first 3. Chapter regenerations cost a small per-chapter share, also shown before you confirm. Editing text yourself is always free.
- Monthly plan credits reset each billing period. One-time packs never expire and are spent after your monthly allowance.
Plans & billing
Checkout and subscriptions run through Polar. Manage invoices, payment methods, or cancellation from the billing portal — it appears in your account after your first checkout. Current prices live on the pricing page.
What does one credit generate?
Exactly one thing: a chapter of up to 1,500 words, a chapter rewrite, a cover image, or an alternative cover. Briefs, titles, outlines, listing copy, manual editing, exports, and publishing are all free and never touch your balance.
Do monthly credits roll over?
No. Your 100 monthly credits reset to 100 at the start of each billing cycle — unused monthly credits don't carry forward. Top-up credits are separate: they never expire and are only spent after your monthly allowance runs out.
Do top-up packs unlock exporting or publishing?
No. Packs add generation credits only — buying one does not activate Pro. Exporting, publishing, creating more books, and removing preview branding all require an active Pro subscription, which is $29 a month with 100 monthly credits included.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep Pro until the end of your paid period — including your remaining monthly credits, exports, and publishing. After that, your books stay safe and existing public pages stay live; you just can't export, publish changes, or generate until you resubscribe. Top-up credits never expire and survive cancellation. Cancel from the billing portal — no email required.
Do I own the commercial rights?
Once you subscribe, yes. EarnDraft Pro includes full commercial usage rights: sell your ebooks on Amazon, KDP, Etsy, or anywhere else and link them from your hosted page. You own the output and keep your retail earnings. The plain-English grant is in our Terms.
How is AI disclosure handled for KDP?
Amazon KDP requires disclosure of AI-generated content. Export includes a pre-filled AI-disclosure page, the checkbox is checked by default, and your hosted listing autofills the disclosure answer for Etsy and Gumroad listings too.
How do payments work?
Checkout and subscriptions run through Polar, which acts as Merchant of Record — sales tax and VAT are handled for you. We never see or store your card number. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from the Polar customer portal.
Is there a refund policy?
Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime and stay active until the end of the paid period. Unused top-up credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase. If a generation fails, it never costs you a credit — only completed AI operations consume credits.
Publishing & AI disclosure
- Every paid plan and credit pack includes a full commercial license — you keep your retail earnings wherever you sell.
- Exports include a pre-filled AI-disclosure page for Amazon KDP, and your book page pre-fills the disclosure answer for Etsy and Gumroad listings too.
- Downloads are PDF and DOCX today; EPUB and audiobook are planned next. Every book can get a public page with cover, contents, and preview reader, plus an author storefront once you pick a handle in your profile.
Account & security
- Update your name, handle, bio, and avatar from profile settings. Your sign-in email can't be changed there.
- Sign in with Google, an email link or code, or a password. Password changes and sign-out live under security settings.
