Terms of service

The binding agreement for using EarnDraft — written in plain English so you can actually read it before you publish under your name.

Last updated: October 21, 2026.

1. Agreement — who this is between

These terms form a binding agreement between you and EarnDraft ("we," "us"). By creating an account, generating a book, or using any EarnDraft page, app surface, export, or hosted book page, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use EarnDraft for a business or organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that entity.

If you don't agree, don't use the service. Paid features are also subject to the plan and billing terms in section 8, which override any conflicting summary elsewhere on the site.

2. What EarnDraft does

EarnDraft helps you create and edit written books, cookbooks, coloring books, workbooks, guided journals, picture books and activity books. Each book has one conversation and an editable artifact. You can work on its text, pages, cover and contents, then export supported files or prepare a public edition. AI drafting, conversations, rewriting and generated artwork draw from the shared usage allowance described in section 8. You remain responsible for reviewing the result.

Retail sales happen on third-party stores — Amazon KDP, Etsy, Gumroad, Apple Books, and anywhere else you list. We never take a cut of your retail earnings and never touch the reader transaction; what you keep is between you, the retailer, and your payment provider, minus their standard fees.

3. Eligibility & your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create or use an EarnDraft author account, and legally able to enter into this agreement. EarnDraft is a tool for adult authors, including adults creating books for children.
  • Sign in with Google, an email link or one-time code, or an email and password (minimum 8 characters). You're responsible for keeping your sign-in methods secure and for everything done under your account.
  • Keep your profile truthful: your name, handle, and bio appear on public book pages and storefronts under your authorship. Your sign-in email can't be changed from profile settings — contact support if you need it moved.
  • Tell us promptly if your account is compromised. We may require re-verification before restoring access.

4. Trial & monthly plan

You can start with a limited AI trial without a card. Trial capacity depends on the work requested and does not promise a complete book of any size. Manual editing, uploads, rearranging pages and exporting saved content use no AI allowance. Publishing requires an account. A monthly subscription provides an included AI allowance that refills every seven days. Active subscribers may buy additional capacity; a refill does not start or renew a subscription. Review current availability, prices and allowances on the pricing page, which is part of these terms for paid features.

Signed-in accounts can publish 3 books; active subscribers can publish 25. Existing pages stay live after cancellation. You can update or unpublish them; publishing another book uses your current limit.

5. Your books & commercial rights

The grant, in one paragraph

With an active monthly subscription, you get a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the books you generate commercially: sell the ebooks on your pages, KDP, Etsy, Gumroad, Apple Books, or anywhere else, and keep your retail earnings. Your saved drafts remain available for review and manual editing. Exporting saved content uses no AI allowance; commercial usage rights remain governed by this grant. Either way, you own your original input, you're responsible for what you publish under your name, and AI-output limits described below still apply.

  • Your input stays yours. Ideas, prompts, uploads, and manual edits are your property. You give us only the narrow rights needed to run the service: to store, process, render, and (when you publish) publicly display your books, covers, and storefront content.
  • AI-output caveat. AI output can resemble other text and isn't guaranteed unique. In the US, purely AI-generated material without sufficient human authorship may not qualify for copyright protection — your rights in a book depend on your creative contribution and applicable law. Review, edit, and add original authorship before you rely on exclusivity.
  • AI-provider processing. We don't sell manuscripts or show private drafts to other users. AI features send prompts and relevant content to third-party providers, whose terms may permit retention and model improvement. See the Privacy Policy for how generation data is processed.
  • You warrant your inputs. Don't upload text, images, or reader content you don't have the right to use. You're liable for infringement in material you supply or publish.

6. AI disclosure, accuracy & no professional advice

  • Disclosure is your obligation — we make it easy. Retailers have their own AI-content disclosure rules. Review the text and artwork in your book and answer each retailer’s current questions yourself. EarnDraft does not submit retailer answers. The final responsibility to answer each retailer truthfully is yours — re-check their current rules before every submission.
  • Verify before you sell. AI output can be generic, dated, or flat-out wrong, and can occasionally echo training text. Review every chapter before publishing — especially medical, legal, financial, or technical claims, which need a qualified human reviewer. Sensitive niches ship with a disclaimer template; using it is your call and your liability.
  • Not professional advice. Books generated here aren't legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice, even when they read confidently. Don't present them as such.

7. Public book pages & storefronts

  • Publishing a book at /b/[slug] or an author page at /c/[handle] makes its cover, table of contents, preview excerpt, purchase links, and any reviews you show publicly indexable. Drafts and unpublished books are never indexed.
  • You control publish and unpublish from your account. Unpublishing removes the page from our site and sitemap going forward, but copies already indexed, linked, or downloaded elsewhere are beyond our control.
  • Reviews and testimonials on your pages must be honest reader reviews, labelled creator-reported where applicable. No fake reviews, fabricated income claims, or deceptive marketing — including on pages we host for you.
  • We may unpublish or remove pages that breach these terms, infringe rights, or expose readers to harm, with or without notice for urgent cases.

8. AI usage, billing & refunds

  • Merchant of record. Checkout, subscriptions, and invoices run through Polar, which acts as Merchant of Record — sales tax and VAT are handled there. We never see or store your card number. Manage payment methods, invoices, and cancellation from the Polar customer portal linked in your account.
  • One AI allowance. AI chat, drafting, rewriting and artwork share one usage meter. Different tasks use different amounts; there is no separate message charge or fixed per-chapter credit. Manual work and exporting saved content do not spend AI usage. Material AI work shows a usage quote before you approve it.
  • Weekly refills and purchases. Included usage refills every seven days while the subscription is active. Unused included capacity does not roll over. Each purchased refill adds the equivalent of one weekly allowance without changing the next refill date. Purchased capacity does not expire, but an active subscription is required to use it.
  • Reservations and interrupted work. AI work reserves an allowance before starting. Unused reserved capacity is released when the actual charge is known. Work already performed can consume usage even if a request is stopped or fails. When provider usage is still unknown, its reservation remains pending until reconciled. Your usage history records the result.
  • Automatic renewal. The monthly price, applicable taxes and recurring terms are shown before checkout. Your subscription renews monthly until canceled. There is no minimum term. We ask for your agreement to the current renewal terms before opening checkout. Cancel before the next renewal through Billing in your account to avoid the next charge.
  • Cancellation. Cancel through the billing portal; no email is required. Access continues through the confirmed paid period unless a payment is reversed or access is otherwise suspended. Afterwards, new AI work pauses. Your books and manual work remain available, and purchased capacity is retained until you reactivate a subscription. Existing public editions stay live until unpublished or otherwise removed under these terms.
  • Refunds. Subscriptions remain active through the paid period and are not refunded for unused time. Unused purchased usage is refundable within 14 days of purchase; contact support and we will process it through Polar. Refunded capacity is removed from the allowance. Nothing here limits statutory rights, including applicable withdrawal rights.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use EarnDraft to:

  • Break the law, infringe copyright or trademarks, or impersonate others.
  • Generate or publish hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative (especially involving minors), or otherwise unlawful content.
  • Deceive readers — spam, fake reviews, fabricated testimonials or income claims, plagiarism presented as original, or undisclosed AI content where disclosure is required.
  • Abuse the service — probe or bypass access controls, scrape at abusive rates, resell access without permission, interfere with other users, or attempt to extract model weights or other users' private content.

We may warn, rate-limit, unpublish pages, suspend, or terminate accounts that breach this section, and report unlawful activity where required.

11. Third-party services

EarnDraft relies on third parties — Polar for billing, Google for optional sign-in, AI model providers via our inference gateway, and hosting, storage, email, and analytics vendors — and your books live or sell on retailers we don't control (Amazon KDP, Etsy, Gumroad, Apple Books). Their terms and content policies apply alongside ours, and retailer rejections, takedowns, or account actions are between you and the retailer. Links or purchase buttons we render don't make us a party to those sales.

12. Suspension & termination

You can stop using EarnDraft anytime; deleting your account deletes your manuscripts, covers, and hosted pages as described in the Privacy Policy (files you already downloaded are yours to keep). We may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, fraud, legal risk, or service shutdown, with reasonable notice except for urgent abuse or legal orders. On termination, commercial rights already granted for books you generated while subscribed survive; access to generation, export, and publishing stops.

13. Disclaimers

We aim for fast, reliable generation but the service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free AI output, search rankings, or any amount of book sales — nobody can promise that, and you should distrust anyone who does.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EarnDraft isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill — including books rejected by retailers or sales that never materialize. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only where the law allows.

15. Indemnity

You'll defend and hold EarnDraft harmless from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your books and pages, your inputs and published content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms — except where caused by our own fault.

16. Disputes & governing law

Start with the easy path: contact hello@earndraft.com and we'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where EarnDraft operates, excluding conflict-of-law rules; disputes go to the competent courts there, unless mandatory consumer-protection law where you live gives you another forum. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.

17. Changes & contact

We'll update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes get reasonable advance notice in-app or by email; smaller clarifications take effect when posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use EarnDraft after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions about these terms: hello@earndraft.com.
